Hermes found his dad!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon with Hermes.  We talked about almost everything under the sun.  We got to a deep, heavy part of the conversation when we realized that Hermes has been out of contact with his dad for 8 months.  I asked him why and found out that his dad's phone number was in his old cell phone which got wet and ruined.  He couldn't retrieve the number.  I knew that his dad lived in Florida and asked him to let me try to look him up online.  In a matter of one minute, I found his dad's address and phone number.  He was ecstatic!  and nervous!  You see, he hasn't been able to tell his dad that his mom died six months ago.  He's felt alone all this time and now can reunite with his dad!  Join us in thanking God that we helped this son and father find each other again!
Here is Hermes playing "dress up" with Jada!  He's a good sport!

Reading in Spanish

As I write, Jada is by my side practicing to read.  Not just reading...reading in spanish!  I haven't asked her to do it or MADE her do it.  She just enjoys it!  I wish I would just sit down and read in spanish...you know, to enjoy it!  At my feet is Logan is covered in a blanket pretending to be a monster "thing."  It's all well and good until he pulls my cord, jumps up to scares us and about knocks down the computer and about hitting his head on the edge of the table.  Oh the joys of being mommy.  :)

Last month, as Logan was working on his homework, he had to fill in the word of what the picture was.  These are always the contrast of culture moments as we saw this...

You see it?  There on the bottom right.  Wow...just...wow.  So, we filled it in...with the wrong answer.  We put "cago" or "I poop" but it was supposed to be "gases"...You gotta laugh!  AND we need to work on our spanish!!

Christmas 2010

Christmas time is over...long over for you Americans.  Here, the holiday is stretched a little longer because they wait for the Kings to deliver their presents instead of Santa.  At the Kings Day parade, the kings passed by our house in the front and in the back, so we got DOUBLE the treats!

Our neighbor girl, Laura, threw us EXTRA candy!

One of my favorite things to do during Christmas time in Spain is visit the "belens" which are nativity scenes to the fullest.  They are full of detailed figurines including the scene of Jesus' birth.  We go to one called "The Nativity of your Dreams" every year.  It is HUGE!

Beginning again...

We are back in Spain.  We are settled in.  We are ready to go!!  We want to keep updates available of what is going on.  We sometimes have a hard time keeping up with our circles from here, from there and from everywhere.  So, we want YOU to be able to check up on us when you want!  I (Rachel) will do my very best to keep this blog full of information as I have it!

BIG news today!  Owen rolled over for the first time!  I missed it.  He rolled from his belly to his back while in his bed after his nap.  He is such a sweetie and we love watching him grow and change.

I'm gonna sign off for now, but I've got this blog rolling...
